Show Axes...

Apr 22, 2014 at 4:22 PM
Dear all,

I am trying to draw a graph (YouTube Video Network) with "Date Created" on the x-axis and "comments" on the y-axis. I want to include the x- and y-axes in the image but I do not find any command for "showing axes" in the Graph Options.

Thanks for any advise,
Nils

Hello, Nils:

In the Excel ribbon, go to NodeXL, Show/Hide, Graph Elements. In the Graph Elements drop-down, check "Axes".

Thank you, Tony!
Is it possible to change the lable for the x-axis?
For "created date" NodeXL sets a formula (e.g. 6,345e+017) as lable, not "real" dates like "14.07.2011" or the like...
Is it possible to change that?
Thank you!

Hello, Nils:

Unfortunately, the axis labels, scales and formats are not very flexible. They all get set automatically when you use NodeXL, Visual Properties, Autofill Columns to autofill the Vertex X and Vertex Y columns, and that only works with numbers (or with dates that NodeXL converts to numbers, leading to confusing results). I'm afraid NodeXL isn't going to be able to do what you want it to do.
