Force Directed Group Boxes

Hello, Tony: You put up an interesting graph a bit ago and described this as a "new feature." I've played with various parameters to try to create this effect to no avail.

Are there directions for this somewhere? (I've looked cursorily.) Any help would be appreciated.

I like your other example of this, too, on

next to "What's New?" :P

I'm glad you like it. It's a new feature that lets you lay out the group boxes three different ways, one of which ("force directed") I used for the images you mention. It was added to NodeXL by Cody Dunne, one of our contributors.

This is part of a new release called "NodeXL Excel Template 2014." The release is temporarily private, which explains why you haven't been able to find it. It's private not because there is anything secret about it, but because it uses a new setup program that is still being tested. With the new setup program, you install NodeXL once and then it updates itself automatically when there are new releases. You do have to do a one-time uninstall of your previous version, however.

I'm looking for beta testers. Would you be interested in trying it? If so, let me know and I'll send you instructions.
