Hi,

Do someone know if it is possible to create a world map in NodeXL?

Hello! Thanks for the interest in NodeXL!

In NodeXL one vertex shape option is "Label". This places the Vertex Label in a box and uses that as a vertex image.

You could make all your vertices into Labels. You could then make all the edges invisible. The result would be close to a word cloud.

Thanks for the quick reply Marc.

I am new to this program, but if you have time I would appreciate if you could send me an example of what you describe here. If you do not have the opportunity, I will try and see if I understand it.

Thanks alot anyways;)

These maps take a Twitter social network for the term "Sequester" and extracts the word pairs and plots those pairs as a network.

Next the edges between words are removed (actually they are just hidden).

Next the boxes around the word pair clusters is removed. The words pairs are represented as "Labels" and the size is scaled to their betweenness centrality.

So: sort of a word cloud in NodeXL!

Great! Know I can visualize how this can be done. Thank you so much! I will increase my knowledge in NodeXL and probably ask som follow up questions.

Thanks again!
