Spatial Data Extraction and Overlays on 2D Maps?

Hi, all:  I wonder if it would be possible to put in a geo-location feature for the data extractions from the various social networks.  If even the data can be extracted, the dataset could go into something like Tableau Public to map.  That would be a cool feature.

Thanks for the interest in NodeXL!

When location data is available, NodeXL's data importers will include that data, often in the Edges worksheet.  Twitter for example may include a ":at/Long" with a tweet if it was from a location aware device and the user has authorized the sharing of location data.  So far, only the Twitter importer includes location data.

The location data can be exported to a range of target applications and data formats.

Hello, Marc:  Thank you.  I will see how the data looks mapped to geography.

BTW, I just got "Analyzing Social Media Networks with NodeXL" (2011) and see that you do have something in that work about geotagged resources on Flickr.
