Input vertex class label codes with covariance matrix

Jul 8, 2012 at 2:42 AM

I have successfully been able to create network plots using an input covariance matrix, but now I need to color vertices based on the class labels of each of the dimensions (objects) for the covariance matrix.  For example, determine covariance between patients using many attributes, and then color each patient's vertex based on a class that they are member of.

Thanks in advance!

If you have a Class column on the Vertices worksheet, you can use NodeXL's Autofill Columns feature to assign vertex colors based on the Class.  Do this:

1. Go to NodeXL, Visual Properties, Autofill Columns.

2. In the Autofill Columns dialog box, select the Vertices tab.

3. On the Vertices tab, set the "source column" for the Vertex Color column to Class.

4. Click the Options button for Vertex Color, then select Vertex Color Options from the menu.

5. In the Vertex Color Options dialog box, specify that the source column's values are categories.
