Using NodeXL in an applicaton

I have an excel application which has been totally developed using VBA. I was thinking if there is any way to integrate this NodeXL functionality with that application without actually installing it.

NodeXL is written in C# and integrates with Excel via a technology called Visual Studio Tools for the Office System (VSTO).  You could theoretically embed your VBA code within the NodeXL template and use something called VBA Interoperability to connect your VBA code to the NodeXL C# components, although I've never tried such a thing.  You can find information about VBA Interoperability in "VBA Interoperability with Visual Studio Tools for the Office System (3.0)" at

Another option is to begin a new VSTO project from scratch, embed your VBA in it, embed our NodeXLControl in Excel's Document Actions pane, and use your VBA to program the NodeXLControl to display whatever graph you want to display.  The NodeXLControl is the general-purpose graph control that the NodeXL template uses in its graph pane.  It's available in our NodeXL Class Libraries download on the Downloads tab at

I don't understand what you mean about not "actually installing it."
