Thank you MarcSmith for the tip of how to create my NodeXL sheet.
However, I do not realy understand how to apply it.
I understand where to put the data for Vertex 1 and Vertex 2.
Where do I insert the other suggested columns: Relationship Type, Date, Vertex1 Type, Vertex 2 Type ?

Do I insert the extra columns in "Other Columns"?

I want to map graphically a list of moviemakers and movies.
Suppose that I can get the information of connections between actors and movies as shown in IMDB, I cannot figure out how to set up the table to do what I want.
What should be my columns of the table, so I can feed it into NodeXLPro...

Thanks for your thoughts,

Thank you for the interest in NodeXL!

A possible table structure (we call it an "Edge List") might look like this:

Vertex 1, Vertex 2, Relationship Type, Date, Vertex1 Type, Vertex 2 Type
Actor Name, Director Name, Was Directed By, Date, Actor, Director
Actor Name, Movie Name, Appeared in, Date, Actor, Movie
Actor Name, Actor Name, Co-starred in Moviename, Date, Actor, Actor
Movie Name, Movie Name, Shared Director Name, Date, Movie, Movie

Yes, place the Vertex 1 data into the first column of the Edges worksheet.

Place the Vertex 2 data into the second column of the Edges worksheet.

Insert columns for the additional Edge and Vertex attribute data into the columns of the Edges worksheet next to "Add your own columns here".
