Can't Install Anything

So, today I opted to pay for NodeXLPro. I uninstalled my original NodeXL, now the original won't install, nor will the latest version; the application brings up a new page in my browser, and then dies. Any ideas?

Hello ,

To install NodeXL Pro follow these steps:
  1. Uninstall NodeXL Basic from "Program and Features" in Control Panel
  2. Delete the folder as described here: https://nodexl.codeplex.com/discussions/646168. This article describes how to go back to Basic but it applies to Pro too.
  3. Download and install NodeXL Pro https://www.nodexlgraphgallery.org/NodeXLSetup/NodeXLProExcelTemplate2014Setup.exe
  4. Follow the instructions in the e-mail that was sent to you together with the license to install NodeXL Pro license.

Yes. I did all that before I posted my query. I haven't received an email regarding the NodeXL Pro licence either :( and I've checked my spam folder.

I am not sure if it is the same as sarah.tiggy2@gmail.com, but if it is not can you please check that account? Hello Sarah,

a new license has been sent to sarah.tiggy2@gmail.com. Sometimes it may take up to two hours for you to receive the license depending on the server load.

How did you end up installing NodeXL? I am having the same problem where a browser opens up and then dies.

I didn't. In the end, I installed it on a new machine. A thorough uninstall removes some shared files that might be the cause of the problem, although so far everything else seems to work ok. I'm afraid I can't tell you what they are right now because I'm not using that laptop right now.

What DID work for me though was locating the User/Data/Apps folder and deleting the strangely named folder. I had to find it by copying in the file address, and then just amending it with my details though, as it's invisible.
