Hello,

I have tried to install the software on our network but it fails.
We use Windows 7, Office 2010 and have Firewall and Proxy active.

Would someone be able to point me in the right direction?
Do we need to open a specific port, authorize an address or something?

It have to be installed soon as there will be a course using this program and it would be good if it worked :-)

Thanks!

Hello!

Thank you for the interest in NodeXL!

Sorry to hear that installation in your environment was a problem.

Happy to hear that the modification to your firewall was sufficient to enable installation.

Good luck with your use of NodeXL!

Regards,

Marc

Yeah we managed to do it in the end, but it was a REAL hassle troubleshoting as I coudlnt find any info what so ever about ports or anything that the installer use :(

As I have seen that a lot of people has suggested, please make an offline installer.

Hello!

Glad to hear that you had success getting the NodeXL application installed behind a firewall.

Perhaps you can share the settings that you changed to make this possible?

We would like to create an "enterprise" edition of NodeXL but have not had sufficient resources to do so! If we can find funders to support a few weeks of development work, we would be happy to make the needed changes.

Regards,

Marc

Hello,

I would love to help but I'm not able to enclose to much information.
The info I got from my college is that he removed the authentication for the domain and it only worked on the proxy that had Kerberos, not on the one with NTLM.
We also found a URL for a cert revocation list which is accessed in the background and that had to be put in a whitelist.

Hope this helps in some way :)

I would still advice you to make an offline installer for enterprise though, why is it that you do not have that?
If you had an MSI or something, we would be able to push it out through SCCM as well.
