I installed the latest version of nodexl and I want to add the facebook capability through social network importer. But to do this I need to copy the dll files from the social network importer to the plugins folder as I read from the discussions.

The problem is:

I can't find the Plugins folder of nodexl.

"C:\Program Files\Social Media Research Foundation\NodeXL Excel Template\PlugIns"

I don't ,even, have the Social Media Research Foundation folder.

Thank you for the interest in NodeXL!

In the latest version of NodeXL you may designate any folder as the "Plugins" directory.

1. Place the files for the importer in a directory (perhaps a create subdirectory: NodeXL\Plugins).
2. In the NodeXL>Data>Import>Import Options dialog set the path to the Plugins directory.
3. Close and restart NodeXL.
4. The new importers will appear in the NodeXL>Data>Import menu.

Thanks Marc. That would have solved the problem, I believe.

Now I did a very stupid action :/
I mistakenly shift deleted the nodexl template and I can't restore through the shift deleted recovery software. They just can't find it.

I try to re-install the nodexl by running the setup again. It says it's already installed. But it's not there in the Excel.

Can you please help me ?

NodeXL is started by opening the NodeXL template file.

Perhaps using the search from the Start menu will help you find it?

Otherwise, try reinstalling?

It's nothing to worry about. If you accidentally delete part of NodeXL again, you can fix it like this:

1) Uninstall NodeXL. Instructions for doing so can be found at . This will prevent the "it's already installed" message you were getting when you tried to install NodeXL again.

2) Download and install NodeXL again.

I can't find a NodeXL folder - simply a NodeXLGraph1 excel document.

You can create any folder to be the NodeXL folder.

There is no longer an automatically created NodeXL folder - the Click Once solution for installation means we no longer know where in the file system the application bits are stored.

Running the NodeXL Template file will open NodeXL.
