Any suggestions about how to fix this error?

Yes. Please install the latest version, which you can find here:


Note that you have to uninstall your old version before you can install the latest version. This is a one-time requirement; from now on, NodeXL will automatically update itself without requiring any action from you.

Unfortunately, I cannot uninstall NodeXL using the "Uninstall or change program" method in Win 7. I get an error that "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. YOu can see the error in the following screen capture:

Hello, Alan:

Try this:

1) Download NodeXL_1.0.1.248.zip from http://nodexl.codeplex.com/releases/view/110574. I had to resurrect this obsolete release, and it will only be available for a short period.

2) Unzip it into any folder.

3) Run Setup.exe.

4) Select the "Uninstall" option from the setup screen. (Or maybe it's "Remove"; I can't remember.)

Thank you for the older installation package. Before I tried that I wen tto http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall and tried the MS Fixit software which worked, allowing me to uninstall previous versions of NodeXL. Specifically, the MS software that worked for me was:

Thanks for the pointer, Alan. You can usually uninstall NodeXL easily from "Programs and Features" (or "Add or Remove Programs" in XP), but it's good to know there is a tool that will fix things if something goes wrong.
