Hi!
I'm analyzing scientists citation network. I will use indegree metric to optimize graph. But it seems, that indegree isn't calculated right. I.e. one person recieved 106 citations, but in column I see only 36. I suppose NodeXl is counting only unique edges,
but I need all edges be counted. What is possible solutions?

Kamar:
NodeXL is not counting only unique edges. Here is a description of how it calculates indegree, which it does for directed graphs only:
"In a directed graph, a vertex's indegree is the number of incoming edges incident to the vertex. A selfloop in a directed graph is counted once as an incoming edge (indegree) and once as an outgoing edge (outdegree)."
I believe NodeXL is calculating indegree correctly.
Can you provide more details on what you are attempting to count?
 Tony

Ok. No more questions.
