Can you Freeze graph layout after dragging changes?

I have a very busy graph and I spread it out and make it more cogent by rearranging the locations of some of the bigger nodes, like to the corners.

In testing the best way to communicate, I often change the labels, colors, shapes after moving nodes around. But then "refresh gaph" pushes it all back to the original layout, requiring another dragging session.

Is there any way to "freeze" the node spacing after I spread it around, so that it survives the "refresh graph" action?

[I take that back. This has not been answered yet. -- Tony]

Chris:

The easiest way to prevent "Refresh Graph" from rearranging your vertices is to set NodeXL, Graph, Layout to "None" in the Excel ribbon.
