NodeXL and skydrive

Jun 13, 2012 at 7:11 PM

I am trying to open a NodeXL file directly from Skydrive into Excel and get the following error 'Microsoft Office Document Customization'. I guess that it has to do with the Trusted Location within Excel but how can I add skydrive as a trusted location so as to be able to run the NodeXL file in my computer?

Thanks in advance!

See "Create, remove, or change a trusted location for your files" at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/create-remove-or-change-a-trusted-location-for-your-files-HA010031999.aspx.

I don't know if a file on SkyDrive will work in NodeXL even after you add a trusted location to Excel, but it's worth a try.

Hi Tony,
Thank you very much for your answer! I tried doing that. I already did that to include a network drive at work and it was all fine but the problem is how to add skydrive location as a Trusted Location (I cannot install the skydrive locally on my computer due to security restrictions from IT Services at my University). Any suggestions?
Cheers!

Antonio:

I don't know if you can do that without installing SkyDrive on your computer.  Your best bet for getting an answer is to post your question on Microsoft's SkyDrive forum, which is monitored by the Microsoft people responsible for SkyDrive.  You can find the forum here:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/skydrive?auth=1

You should include the full text of the error message you're getting when you ask them your question.

Thanks Tony! I posted the question on Microsoft's forum. Will get back to you if they come out with a solution.
