"Hide" a vertex?

Hi, is it possible to hide or remove a vertex to create a subgraph?

In other words, in one view of the network, one person, say "X," is connected to everybody. When I show the full graph, I don't want to show "X" so I'd like to hide him from the view. But when I want to create a subgraph for person  "Y," I want "X" in the graph so that "X" will show up in "Y"s subgraph.

Is that possible?

thanks

Patti:

Yes, if by "create a subgraph" you are referring to NodeXL's Subgraph Images feature (NodeXL, Analysis, Subgraph Images).  If that's not what you mean, please clarify.

On the Vertices worksheet, set the Visibility cell for "X" to Hide.  That will prevent "X" from appearing in the graph pane.  However, the Subgraph Images feature ignores the "Hide" cell and will include "X" in all the subgraph images it creates.

The "hide" was what I was looking for. Exactly. thanks a bunch and again for being so prompt.
