Additional vertices columns

May 10, 2011 at 3:26 AM

I have loaded a number of extra columns in the 'other columns' space on the vertices sheet, which I want to use to colour the vertices with. Node XL seems only to make a single column (the first one) available to do this. How can I extend the standard space so that I can select the columns of attributes that I would like to colour the nodes by?

Please see 'What to do if NodeXL's tables don't "auto-expand"' at

Hi Tony .... I checked the options and they were already checked. Is there a way of including them manually?

I'm not sure I understand your question, but if you're asking how to manually expand the Vertices table, then do this:

1. Select any cell in the Vertices table, such as A3.

2. Go to Design, Properties, Resize Table in the Ribbon.

3. Follow the instructions in the Resize Table dialog box.

If that's not what you're asking, please be more specific.

Hi Laurie (how r u? funny meeting you here!)

If you just want to set the colour for your vertices there is a column specifically for vertex colour (column J in my version of NodeXL) and see page 59 of "Analyzing Social Media Networks with NodeXL" or section 4.5.1
