The NodeXL Excel 2007 template displays a network graph using edge and vertex lists stored in an Excel 2007 workbook.

What's New

This version adds another layout algorithm, allows graph images to be saved in Microsoft XPS format, makes a few other minor feature changes, and fixes some bugs. See the Complete NodeXL Release History for details.

Installation Steps

Follow these steps to install and use the template:

1. If you installed a .NetMap version earlier than 1.0.1.56, uninstall it. (This is a one-time requirement. ".NetMap" is NodeXL's previous name. If the first version you installed is .NetMap 1.0.1.56 or later or NodeXL 1.0.1.64 or later, skip this step.) In Windows Vista, go to Start, Control Panel, Programs and Features. In the program list, right-click either "Microsoft.NetMap.ExcelTemplate" or "C#UNG 2008" (another former name of NodeXL), then select Uninstall. In Windows XP, use Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs to do the same thing.
2. Download the Zip file and unzip it into any folder. Use WinZip or a similar program, or just right-click the Zip file in Windows Explorer and select "Extract All."
3. Run Setup.exe. You need to be an administrator to do this. (You don't need to be an administrator to actually use the NodeXL template once it's installed, however.) If this is the first Excel 2007 template you've installed, the setup will install some Microsoft prerequisites. These are the Microsoft. .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1, the Microsoft Office 2007 Primary Interop Assemblies, and the Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for the Office System 3.0 Runtime Service Pack 1.
4. Delete the unzipped files. They're no longer needed.
5. Use the template. In the Windows Start menu, click "All Programs" (Vista) or "Programs" (XP), then "Microsoft NodeXL," then "Excel 2007 Template."

System Requirements

1. Windows Vista or Windows XP. (Will also work within Parallels Desktop and VMware Fusion on the Mac.)
2. Office 2007.
